Google has recently come under ridicule for taking out products like Google TV, Google Wave and Google Buzz. Apparently, all the three have proved to be big failures for the tech giant.
However, another product out of Google’s stable has come under immense criticism for not living up to its name. Google Search, the very brand this Company is known for, is coming out with preposterous search results.
The renowned Page Link algorithm code that ranks search results according to the total number of inbound links has attracted more marketers than genuine web pages.
The best example for proving its failure, is a search for PageRank, which is ranked at number four. It happens to come behind the links of two vendors.
Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook has overthrown Google, with providing more accurate results. The Company provides search alogrithms on the number of likes on the link of content.
Apart from providing more relevant searches, the new engine is a lot quicker as well.
Another search engine that beats Google when it comes to the authenticity of results is that of Yahoo’s, Alta Vista. It used a formula, which was in complete contrast of the system provided Google, and in fact did much better, when it came to accuracy.
The only reason, why Google became more popular was because Google was more lean for the booming internet world. But now, the ball is in Google’s court, as Facebook is the new king of the World Wide Web.
