Scarcity of private helicopters in China and India

On Tuesday, Eurocopter opened its Southeast Asia regional centre in Singapore. The company said that they have opened a regional hub considering the scarcity of private helicopters in countries like China and India.

It has assumed that once regulations on private aircraft are improved in the two giant economies, the helicopter industry would launch as well. At present there is a huge scope for the industry in China. It has about 200 private helicopters, compared with around 10,000 in the US.

Dr Lutz Bertling, president & CEO of Eurocopter has stated that India and China are the two nations where corporate spending is rising. It is expected that once the rules in these nations are relaxed, then there would be a market explosion.

There would be growth of 10 or 15 per cent as well as a sudden increase in the deals in these nations.

However the present condition is quite bleak because of the extension of the country and the stringent rules. The size of the population and the economic power, are more as compared with the number of helicopters flying are also other reasons of this debacle.
